About the Program

Do you love working with cars and trucks? Do you want to learn how to repair, customize, and restore vehicles? Auto collision technicians are in high demand in Maine, and this program will teach you the skills needed to succeed in this exciting industry.

At UTC, you'll get hands-on experience using specialized tools and equipment to fix damaged vehicles. You’ll learn how to:
🔧 Straighten frames and remove dents
🔧 Replace and shape automobile body parts
🔧 Match and apply paint finishes
🔧 Assess collision damage and plan high-quality repairs
🔧 Develop strong customer service skills

Each vehicle is like a new puzzle to solve, and you'll gain the confidence to take on any challenge. Whether you want to work in a body shop, start your own business, or explore custom vehicle restoration, this program will help you get there.

Mr. Luna has been in the auto body repair and refinishing business for 23 years. His interest was piqued in this hands-on field during his attending the auto body class at UTC! He has owned and operated his own auto body and repair business for 20 years. Mr. Luna takes pride in his talents and enjoys teaching others how to use the needed tools safely and effectively. His attention to detail shows in his fine repair work. For Mr. Luna, working on a vehicle is like being a detective. You just don’t know how extensive or how much damage there is on some jobs until you start investigating! 

When he is not in his shop or teaching at UTC, you can find him hiking or just enjoying the outdoors. He shares his life with his wife and is a proud father of a teen and a pre-teen daughter.
