In a special **surprise** presentation on Thursday, April 2nd, Video and Audio Production student Ava Black was awarded the Bronze Medal for her participation in the 2026 SkillsUSA Maine Photography contest.
Ava was not able to receive her medal during the conference awards ceremony, but we were happy to gather and recognize her accomplishment here at UTC!

We are incredibly proud to name Isabel Hicks as the United Technologies Center’s Student of the Year.
Isabel’s journey is exactly why CTE matters. She entered our Video and Audio Production program with little experience and has grown into a skilled leader, role model, and creator through hard work and determination.
As our Student Social Media Ambassador, Isabel has spent countless hours capturing the story of UTC by showcasing student learning, celebrating achievements, and helping others see what’s possible. Known for saying, “I got you,” Isabel brings positivity, confidence, and care to everyone around her.
She truly represents the power of what UTC can do.....coming in unsure of her path and leaving with confidence, professionalism, and an incredible body of work.
