Our Culinary Arts & Hospitality students participated in an MRE challenge organized by local Army National Guard members. MREs, or Meals Ready-to-Eat, are complete self-contained meals provided to the US Armed Forces. Despite their convenience, MREs are often criticized for their lack of flavor. The students were divided into groups, each receiving an MRE, and were tasked with elevating the taste of the randomly assigned meal. They had a strict one-hour time limit to plate their creations before presenting them to the judges—SSG Paye, SSG Arrants, and SSG Caswell. The judges evaluated the groups based on their utilization of all MRE components, their creativity, taste, and presentation skills.

Yesterday was a super exciting day here at United Technologies Center! Students from several programs including Outdoor Power and Recreational Equipment, Autobody, Business Leadership, and Video & Audio Production are embarking on a collaborative effort to restore this 1970 Ski-Doo Alpine. Each class has nominated two students to represent their respective program as a management team to oversee the project. If anyone has any resources or information available that would be useful to these hard working students that be greatly appreciated! Please stay tuned to see the progress along the way! Super proud of all the students here at UTC! #UTC4ME #CTERocks #MaineCTE
