We can say, without a doubt, that our UTC students embraced the ‘No Limits’ mindset this past week, and in the weeks leading up to the SkillsUSA National Conference. Going head-to-head with the best of the best in the country is no small challenge. Whether they walk the National stage, or the result is not quite what they hoped for, the lessons learned through this experience are invaluable. Their preparation, commitment, and persistence is a testament to the dedication that they have in their chosen trade and is also a reflection of their outstanding character. This week certainly was not without its challenges, disappointment, and triumph. Through it all, our crew has represented their communities, our school, and the State of Maine well. We consider it an honor and a privilege to work with these fine individuals. What a great week! We are so proud! ❤️🤍💙 (For those wondering, we finally made it to Bangor around 11:45am this morning after two more delays. 13.5 hours later than scheduled. 😅)

Well, we had smooth traveling from Atlanta to DC and DC to Bangor, right up until we tried to land. Weather in Bangor was not conducive for us to touch down, so we were diverted to Boston. Hoping for an on-time 8am flight to Bangor after staying in Logan Airport all night. 🤞

Ben's call time for Extemporaneous Speaking prelims was 10:45am. He entered the prep room to an unknown topic and had 5 minutes to plan out a 3-5 minute speech. The question the judges posed was difficult, but Ben held his own. The immediate feedback was that his speech was authentic, a great thing to hear! He too will await today's results to determine whether he competes in finals tomorrow. Yay Ben!
