Last week, the Ed Prep students presented their first Read-Alouds 📚 of the school year. This activity supports their coursework for UTC and EMCC 🎓, focusing on strategies for teaching children's literature. Each student selected a book to present, dressed as a favorite character 🦸‍♀️, and applied various strategies to introduce new vocabulary, ask appropriate open-ended questions to promote engagement 🤔, and demonstrate effective use of voice 🎤, illustration display 🖼️, eye contact 👀, and pacing ⏱️. #MaineCTE #UTC4ME #EMCCProud

Every week, business management students take on classroom jobs and earn "biz bucks" 💵 for their efforts. Once a quarter, they hold an auction 🎉 (complete with paddles!) where they use their accumulated biz bucks to bid on items like workwear passes 👔, homework passes 📝, gift cards 🎟️, and other assorted goodies. One class even managed to save over $700 💰 and bought a food party 🍕 with their earnings! #MaineCTE #UTC4ME #CTErocks

Earlier this week, medical students participated in a hands-on learning experience 🎉 by carving pumpkins 🎃 to deepen their understanding of medical terminology and clinical skills. Before starting, they donned personal protective equipment (PPE) 🧤, mirroring practices in a real clinical setting. Each student created a sterile field around their workstation, simulating the setup necessary for minor surgical procedures. The pumpkins served as stand-ins for patients 🩺, with each student assigned a specific "procedure" to carry out. This engaging activity highlighted the importance of PPE, sterile field preparation, and accurate medical terminology—essential components in any healthcare environment. 📣 A special thank you to the Davis Family Farm for the pumpkins! #MaineCTE #UTC4ME #CTErocks
